Mixing Zones May Lead To Fatal Accidents

On Monday, September 11, 2017 a truck driver in New York City hit a bicyclist. The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. at West 30th Street and Seventh Avenue. The cyclist suffered serious injuries to her leg. The cyclist had been riding a Citi Bike when a dump truck proceeded to make a right turn as she was cycling straight. The driver stopped his truck when he heard the woman scream. According to reports, the cyclist and driver began to scream at one another over who was at fault. Nearby pedestrians assisted in pulling the victim from under the driver's truck. The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was not charged.

3 reasons to get medical help for your child after a dog bite

Fido wasn't happy to see your child today, and he lashed out in a way you never expected. For example, maybe your child already knew the neighbor's pet, he normally only saw the pet when your neighbor was with him. Today, the dog got off its leash and chased your child down on his bicycle, biting him once he was knocked down. Your neighbor called him off quickly, but your child still suffered in the attack.

Is the standard too low for diagnostics in medicine?

When our back aches, our knee gives out or we experience excruciating pain in our body, we expect a medical professional to help us find the problem. One tool often used to help solve this puzzle is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

The New York metro area is known for its yellow cabs, called "Medallion taxis," which people can hail to get rides. Livery cabs are also available, but usually require a phone call to a cab company for pickup. Due to the large number of taxis in New York, taxi accidents are also common. If you suffer serious injury as a passenger in a taxicab accident, find out about your rights to recover compensation by working with a Brooklyn taxi accident attorney.

Insurance companies like to paint attorneys and those who file medical malpractice lawsuits in a bad light and make you believe they put the medical profession at risk. However, this is not the truth. If you suffer serious injury because of a preventable medical error, find out how your Brooklyn medical malpractice attorney can help you hold parties accountable and recover damages.

People have a right to be concerned about whether their loved ones receive proper care in nursing homes. Unfortunately, the reason long-term care initially becomes necessary is when a loved one begins experiencing a diminished capacity of some sort. His or her vulnerability makes it important for family and friends to be alert to abuse or negligence and provide them with the protection they need. If you suspect your family member is a victim of nursing home abuse, discuss the matter with a Brooklyn nursing home neglect attorney and find out about legal recourse.

In many dog bite cases, you can recover damages for medical costs because New York courts hold dog owners strictly liable for these damages. However, to pursue other damages such as pain and suffering, lost earning capacity and non-economic damages, a Brooklyn dog bite attorney must prove negligence - that the owner knew about the dog's propensity for biting and failed to take precautions.
